Description

The Duncan Coral (Duncanopsammia axifuga) is a hardy, photosynthetic LPS (large polyp stony) coral known for its elegant, fleshy polyps and swaying tentacles. Native to the Indo-Pacific, it thrives under moderate lighting and gentle to moderate flow, making it ideal for beginner reef aquarists. Its polyps extend during the day, displaying shades of green, purple, or brown with contrasting centers. Duncan corals can grow into large colonies if well-fed and given space to expand. They are peaceful and non-aggressive, making them excellent neighbors in a mixed reef tank.
